RI Jeweler Romano Counts Real Housewife Among Top Fans

Luann de Lesseps of Bravo's “Real Housewives of New York” is a huge Romano fan.
“I met the Countess while I had my Shop at The Plaza Hotel in NYC,” said Romano. “She wore many of my statement pieces in the show, on her first book cover, at her album launch party and on 'Watch What Happens Live' - one of my favorite moments because she gave me a shout out!”

Making a Difference in 2019 — And a Whole New 2020
In 2019, GoLocal recognized Romano — designer, businesswoman and fearless — as one of 2019 who made a difference in 2019, writing:
Stack up the accomplishments. She is everywhere. From fashion week in NYC to appearing on GoLocal LIVE to developing new designs, Romano is a whirlwind of creative energy.
A graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, Romano forged ahead by launching her own multidimensional brand with the encouragement and mentoring of Nicole Miller and legendary Sex & The City stylist, Patricia Field.

“As a result of the times, temporary closures of retail, bans on travel, social gatherings and such events, I am focusing one-on-one with my customer,” said Romano, who has been busy this week with her “Super Sale.”
“It has been quite amazing because I am personally working with each and every customer with their selections - and virtually!" she said. "So we are all comfy and cozy perusing fabulous, feel-good jewels at Super Sale prices."

And Romano heeded the call of the crisis -- going back to her designing roots, and making masks.
“Business is calling for creative approaches so when I saw an immediate need for masks, I began to sew on my trusty sewing machine that got me through college at RISD," said Romano. "I started with donations when supplies were unavailable to healthcare workers and caregivers. Then individuals began asking to purchase because they are soft and comfortable to wear so I pivoted and still fulfilling both orders and donations! It is quite satisfying to buckle down to the basics and sew again.
"I am super excited to share that I will be creating masks for the staff of my number one favorite taqueria, Tallulah’s on Ives Street!” she said
