He was the lead hair stylist on Sex and the City 2, he made Anne Hathaway fabulous on film, and now he's GoLocalProv's weekly style expert. Frank Barbosa, the Newport-based celebrity stylist, brings red carpet perspective to hair, makeup, and overall style.

You don't have to jet to Europe this summer to borrow smart hair style tips from those European girls. Here it is, ready for Rhode Island living all summer long:

What's that mean? In Europe girls are always prepared to look fab no matter what the day throws their way. Check out every girl in France, Italy, Spain... they've got that beautiful bag and inside it a bag of tricks (head scarf, little bag of hair bands, can of spray).

Here are some daily instances for a quick beauty prop.

1. You pull into Newport with the top down, spy the mirror and low and behold beauty craziness! Pull those fab sunglasses out of your bag, use as head band and spritz a little sea salt spray on your ends.

2. You roll into Providence Place and realize the humidity has blown up your blowout! Pull out your trusty head scarf and go-go glamour.

3. Stepping onto Federal Hill for an afternoon lunch and your hair has let you down! Clip it up in a bright, big clip to make a Federal statement out of your hair.

From Sex and the City 2 to Rachel Getting Married, from The Sorcerer's Apprentice to Bride Wars, Frank Barbosa has styled some of the biggest celebrities in film, TV, and theater. He's just finished styling on location alongside film stylist Alan D'Angerio on the film, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, starring Jennifer Garner. He's been in the industry for 17 years, moving from hip neighborhoods in Chicago, to Boston's Newbury St, to Bellevue Avenue in Newport. He maintains that his real passion, though, is being behind a salon chair at Frank Antonio Hair and Makeup in Newport.
