120-Plus-Year-Old East Side Home Demolished - More to Come

The demolition of 382 Brook Street began on Monday.
The home and the adjacent property were approved for demolition by the City of Providence.
116 Waterman Street is next to come down -- the eight-bedroom home was built in 1875.
The two properties are assessed at approximately $2 million combined.
A new mixed-use residential building is slated to replace the two 100-plus-year-old homes on the East Side of Providence.
Walter Bronhard is the developer behind the five-story apartment complex at the corner of Brook and Angell Streets — one block off Thayer Street.

Bronhard has more plans. He is proposing to tear down 108-110 Waterman Street, another massive Victorian structure.
The proposal by Bronhard is to demolish this structure too and replace it with a "five-story 60’ tall mixed-use building with retail on the ground floor and 26 dwelling units, in the C-2 zone under the I-3E overlay. The applicant is seeking a dimensional adjustment for height as the building exceeds the four-story, 50’ height limit of the C-2 zone."
The application for the new project went before the Providence City Plan Commission in July and will be back before the group at its September meeting
