13 New England Tech students receive Wavemaker Fellowships
New England Tech has announced that 13 students received a Wavemaker Fellowship award from the Governor’s Office and the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation.

“We are proud of these graduates for earning their degree at NEIT and choosing to begin their careers in Rhode Island.  NEIT’s mission is to prepare our students with the technical and professional skills required in today’s competitive labor market. They will certainly make a positive contribution to the Rhode Island economy,” said Dr. Douglas H. Sherman, Senior Vice President, and Provost at New England Institute of Technology.

The Wavemaker Fellowship program was established to attract and retain STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), as well as commercial design graduates who are hired by Rhode Island employers.

“The Wavemaker Fellowship program is a potent tool to help our state keep more than our fair share of recent STEM and design graduates here in Rhode Island. Wavemaker Fellows are working in companies and sectors that are key to our state’s economy. We are glad that they have chosen to stay in Rhode Island and we congratulate them on their award,”  said Rhode Island Secretary of Commerce, Stefan Pryor.
