Alex and Ani Names Fourth President in Three Years

Cindy DiPietrantonio
The every changing leadership of Alex and Ani took another twist. Alex and Ani, the once red hot global jewelry company headquartered in Cranston, has named its fourth President in three years. The new leader is Cindy DiPietrantonio -- her appointment as President was announced on Thursday. According to the company, "the transition to President happened in a very natural, organic way."

DiPietrantonio "will drive the Company’s business strategy and lead daily operations," and she will be reporting to CEO, Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Carolyn Rafaelian.

In December of 2014, she was tapped to head SHEEX a bedding company as President. At the time she said “I am profoundly honored to join SHEEX in this newly created position, particularly at such an exciting time in the company's history,” DiPietrantonio said. “I look forward to working with Susan and Michelle to help build on their portfolio and help to create the exciting next chapter for the company.” But just a year later she was gone.

DiPietrantonio joined Alex and Ani in July as Interim Chief Operating Officer, "quickly immersing herself in the mechanisms of the Company’s operations, assessing systems and processes and making recommendations for forward business strategies that align with the Company’s vision and global expansion." As GoLocal reported, during her tenure she has closed stores including the once highly profitable Wayland Square store on the East Side of Providence.

“Cindy’s ability to lead and inspire speaks for itself,” Rafaelian says. “As we continue our journey as a global brand, she is helping to position the Company for future growth, refining our go to market strategy."
