Blount Small Ship Adventures in Warren announced Friday that its two ships will be made available for use as temporary isolation housing for medical staff and first responders to help with the escalating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the healthcare system in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

These heroes on the front lines who are taking care of us should have a comfortable place to stay and we are proud to be able to offer our ships as a haven to them, said Nancy Blount, President of Blount Small Ship Adventures. The temporary isolation housing cruise ships would be docked near the community in need and operated by the ship’s crew, with all maritime operations, food, and beverage, and cleaning services provided by crew members on the ship.

Blount Small Ship Adventures has been in business since 1966 and remains a Rhode Island family-owned and operated cruise line. Blount’s two ships, the Grande Caribe and the Grande Mariner are American, built, flagged and crewed.
