On Thursday, Dunkin' announced a new total of 800 locations in the U.S. in 2020.

That includes the 450 stores closures within the convenience store and gas station chain Speedway, which GoLocal previously reported.

Dunkin' said in a statement that the 800 locations represent roughly 8% of all Dunkin' locations in the US.

The company is reporting that same-store sales fell by 18.7% in the most recent quarter, not including locations that were temporarily closed.

Dunkin' is not the only chain seeing change. Starbucks will close 400 stores in the United States and Canada while moving forward with concepts that will be an integration of the digital and physical customer experience, CEO Kevin Johnson said in June.

McDonald's has announced it is closing 200 locations.

According to the company, sales have been improving week-over-week throughout the quarter, reaching single-digit declines in the week ending July 25.
