Chafee to Host Business Leaders for Forum on Municipal Fiscal Issues

Governor Chafee will meet on Thursday at the State House with representatives of Rhode Island businesses and municipal executives to address future municipal strategies and economic development issues plaguing the state. This will be the fourth business forum held in two weeks by Chafee concerning these issues.

As Governor and throughout his gubernatorial campaign, Chafee has always been concerned with the business climate in Rhode Island and has stated that an “essential goal of his administration is to create a climate that is conducive to job creation and economic growth.” Thursday’s Municipal Strategy Session hopes to address this concern head-on in an open dialogue.

Besides these Strategy Sessions, Chafee will hold an electronic town hall meeting for taxpayers and retirees to continue to foster this constructive dialogue in the upcoming weeks.
