College Unbound Names Kidder Chair of Board for 2019
Kidder is an attorney and the director of Credit’s Cool in Newport.
She will serve for one year.

Other officers and members named were: Louis Soars of the American Council of Education, as Vice President; Chris Montagnino of New York’s Academic Partnerships, as Secretary; Cedric Huntley, Director of Student Services at the Met School, as Treasurer; and Rhode Island Superior Court Justice Judith Savage (Ret.) as its newest board member.
The 22-member board is charged with guiding the non-profit organization through the process of securing accreditation through the New England Commission of Higher Education.
College Unbound
College Unbound, which currently serves 175 students, was founded in 2009, by Dennis Littky and Adam Bush, as an outgrowth of Littky’s pioneering work in education in founding The Big Picture Learning Corp. and The Met School, models replicated worldwide.
CU targets adult, minority and low-income students, who left college because of personal and financial challenges.
CU provides students with convenient evening and weekend class times and intensive, one-on-one advising and social supports to help them complete their Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Change, in typically less than two years.
