Crook Bridge Redesign - 5 Finalists Named

Crooke - PPS named it one of the most endangered
The city of Providence’s design competition to recreate and reimagine the abandoned and stuck bridge has been narrowed down to five finalists.

The Crook Point Bascule Bridge is a steel railway drawbridge that once connected Providence’s Fox Point neighborhood to the City of East Providence across the Seekonk River. The bridge has been stuck in the upright position since 1976 when the bridge and tunnel were abandoned.

The redesign competition had field fielded 80 entries.
