In an interview with GoLocal, Feroce said "For someone who grew up in West Warwick, this move to Newport not only fulfills a childhood dream but should serve as a reminder that the American dream is alive and well - you just have to work for it."

Rich History

The mansion was built in 1890 and is a contemporary home to the famed "cottages" The Breakers, Rosecliff and Marble House.

The home is described as, "a resplendent, 2 1/2-story, ashlar stone Baronial."

The home was designed by architect William Ralph Emerson, a cousin of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Beyond his work in Newport, he worked with fellow Boston designer Frederick Law Olmsted on the creation of the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., designing several of the zoo's first buildings

The mansion was built for Rose Anne Grosvenor, a philanthropist from Providence. Another previous owner of note was former New England Patriots' owner James Busch Orthwien. He was chairman of one of the country's largest advertising agencies and a major shareholder in Anheuser Busch.

Recently restored, Wyndham Estate will be renamed Wyndham Hill according to sources.

Super Broker

The real estate deal was put together through a realtor who has begun to emerge as one of Rhode Island's most influential, Allen Gammons of Prudential Gammons Realty.  The firm has participated in the sale of 533 Ocean State properties in the last 24 months, including other notable Newport mansions such as Belcourt Castle in Newport, and the Sakonnet Vineyard in Little Compton. Prudential Gammons represents many fine estates and is the exclusive Rhode Island Agency for the International MLS. (IMLS)
