Former Trump FEMA Administrator Gaynor Joins Southeastern New England Defense Industry Board

SENEDIA, the consortium of defense industry companies announced the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors: former FEMA Administrator Pete Gaynor, now the senior vice president and director of National Resilience Response and Recovery Programs for The LiRo Group, and Ted Curley, the president and general manager of iXblue Defense Systems, Inc. in Lincoln, R.I.  

“We are pleased to have the expertise of Pete Gaynor and Ted Curley joining our incredible board of defense industry innovators,” said Molly Donohue Magee, SENEDIA executive director. “These impressive leaders have significant experience across government, defense, military, and policy, bringing critical perspective to benefit our SENEDIA member companies.”  

Gaynor is an emergency management and disaster response expert who recently served as Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, FEMA Administrator, and Deputy FEMA Administrator. Ted Curley has more than 30 years of experience in defense technology and unmanned underwater vehicles. He leads a talented team of engineers and business development managers who provide the latest technology to demanding and evolving markets.

The SENEDIA board executive committee is represented by Chair, Tim DelGiudice, Raytheon Technologies; Vice Chair of Strategy Debbie Proffitt, Purvis Systems; Vice Chair of Membership Colin McClennan, Evans Capacitor; Vice Chair of Infrastructure Ed Lopes, Balfour Beatty; Treasurer Kelly Mendell, Mikel; and newly elected Secretary Joe Donovan, Nelson Mullins. 

John Riendeau, who serves on the SENEDIA Board, is retiring from his post at Commerce RI and likewise announced that he would be stepping down from the Board. Magee and DelGiudice thanked Riendeau for his committed service to SENEDIA and the Rhode Island Defense Cluster at a recent board meeting.  

“SENEDIA aims to be a catalyst for thought leadership and technical innovation in defense technologies. By ensuring our Board has a mix of new perspectives and experienced voices, we can strengthen and diversify the benefits we provide to our member companies,” said Magee.
