G-Form Goes Viral with High-Impact Products
Have you ever dropped your iPad while skydiving or tossed one out of your Porsche while doing 110 mph? Odds are, no. But the makers of G-Form do just that when they put their 'Extreme Edge' case to the test and the iPad lives to tweet the tale. The result: an instant viral sensation on YouTube, and a hell of a drop-test.

The team
Founded in 2010 by Brown University Master's student Daniel Wyner, RI native Ami Newsham and innovator Thomas Cafaro in a North Scituate barn, G-Form is an innovative, rapidly growing company based in Providence. (Shortly after, joined by Brown alum and Entrepreneurship professor, Danny Warshay). As cycling enthusiasts, the G-Form team originally began producing biking gear, such as elbow and knee pads. In less than 2 years they have expanded to producing protective equipment for all kinds of sports, top-of-the-line consumer electronic products and even military tactical gear. With factories in North Smithfield and Fall River, MA, they already have distributors selling their products in 20 different countries, including China, Switzerland and Canada.

G-Form utilizes Reactive Protective Technology, or RPT™ by blending their own materials with PORON®XRD™, using their patented technology. The molecules in RPT™ products instantly stiffen upon impact to absorb over 90% of the force. RPT™ allows G-Form products to be soft, light and flexible, but still provide state-of-the art protection, hence their slogan 'soft and floppy, extreme protection.'
Good dudes, good deeds
All of G-Form's electronic products are 100% made in the USA. Jeremy Russell, Director of Sales and Brown '11 graduate noted, "Not only are we creating jobs in RI, but G-Form is revitalizing the financial district in Providence, by attracting RI's young college graduates like myself." The company also participates in charitable events. Last June, the G-Form Team raised $120,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Lake Tahoe's '20th Annual America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride.'
Be sure to keep an eye out this summer for the Team USA BMX (bicycle moto-cross) squad, who will be sporting the G-Form gear at the Olympics in London.
Where to get it?
Currently, G-Form products are sold online here and in most bike stores in the RI area.
