Gov. Raimondo to Host Conversations Focused on Helping People Build Job Skills

Governor Gina Raimondo will begin a series of community conversations, titled "Skills That Matter for Jobs That Pay," starting this week which focus on helping people build the skills that matter so they can compete for the jobs that pat. 

The event will take place on Thursday, April 28 starting at 5 p.m. at Cumberland High School.

"We must all work together to make our state a place of opportunity for everyone. I look forward to hearing from Rhode Islanders, and I am eager to share the work we are doing to move our state forward," said Raimondo.

The conversation will look at proposals to strengthen neighborhood schools and help Rhode Islanders build the skills that matter of the jobs of the 21st century. 

Participants in the conversations include: 

  • Governor Gina M. Raimondo
  • Cumberland Mayor Bill Murray
  • Education Commissioner Ken Wagner
  • Cumberland School Department Superintendent Robert Mitchell
  • 2016 National Principal of the Year, Cumberland High School Principal AlanTenreiro
