The new routes to Tampa and Fort Myers will complement the existing three routes JetBlue is currently offering from Rhode Island. The airline temporarily suspended service at T.F. Green in April 2020 due to lowered passenger volume. After reinstating Rhode Island operations with service to Fort Lauderdale on July 2, JetBlue plans on reinstating service to Orlando and West Palm Beach from PVD in August.
JetBlue has been at T.F. Green for over seven years. The airline added PVD to its network in November 2012 with flights to Orlando and Fort Myers and added a third route, West Palm Beach, in February 2019. In announcing 30 new domestic service at several airports across the nation, JetBlue noted they were prioritizing regions of the country where leisure travel is showing signs of strength.

And Frontier Airlines announced an increase in seat capacity to Florida for the upcoming winter season by Frontier Airlines. The ultra-low-cost airline will offer flights to four different destinations in the Sunshine State, including Miami, which has not had a nonstop service from T.F. Green Airport since April 2019.
Earlier this week Frontier Airlines returned to Rhode Island after a two-month suspension of service in mid-April due to reduced passenger travel. The first resumed service is to Orlando, Florida. The airline is flying three times a week with departures on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Frontier Airlines plans on further expanding flight options this fall, with plans to resume service to both Fort Myers and Tampa, Florida four times a week, and make Orlando daily as of November 13, 2020.
Frontier is announcing that on December 17, a new nonstop route to Miami will begin with 5 weekly flights, daily except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On the same day, Tampa will become daily and Orlando will become twice daily, just in time for the peak holiday travel season.
Frontier has been connecting Rhode Islands to Orlando since August 2017, Fort Myers, and Tampa since October 2017. It previously flew between T.F. Green and Miami between October 2017 and April 2018.
