Juneteenth Forum and Vendors’ Expo to Showcase Rhode Island's Local Black Businesses

On the eve of multiple celebrations of Juneteenth, three black women-owned businesses are hosting a forum to delve deeper into issues that black-owned businesses face and provide a platform to showcase the multifaceted black businesses and the talented individuals that lead them. 

“Running a Business While Black: Analyzing the Obstacles” will take place on Thursday, June 16 from 4 to 7 PM at the Venture Cafe in the CIC Building at 225 Dyer Street in Providence. 

“As the entrepreneurship levels are rising in communities of color, what’s going to be important is that we’re providing adequate resources for these businesses,” says Ann Clanton, owner of Ann Clanton Communications and founder of Rhode Island Black Film Festival.

Clanton Communications, in conjunction with Fab Living Realty and The Black Leaf Tea & Culture Shop will present a Forum and Vendors’ Expo showcasing Rhode Island's local black businesses.

4:00-7:30 PM - Innovation on Tap (complimentary beer, wine, snacks, desserts) 
4:00-6:00 PM - Black Business Expo
5:00-6:15 PM - Forum: Running a Business While Black - Analyzing the Obstacles
