Legal C Bar will anchor a new 30,000 square foot building at the Garden City Center. This will be the first Rhode Island location for Boston-based restaurant group, Legal Sea Foods.

“Adding fresh new concepts has always been our goal for Garden City Center. With Legal C Bar joining our already dynamic mix of local, regional and national restaurants and retailers, we continue to build the great offerings that make us Rhode Island’s go-to lifestyle center. Phase IV is a response to demand from restaurants and retailers looking to reach our diverse mix of shoppers and become a part of the excitement that has been building around Garden City Center continuously for the last four years,” said Gary Robinson, Vice President of Leasing for the Wilder Companies, management company for Garden City Center.

Legal C Bar will be located in a new 30,000 square-foot building in the area between the Bank of America and Newport Creamery.

Construction is set to start this spring on land cleared last fall by the removal of an office building.

Upon completion, the new building will offer space for several new retail stores and restaurants, including some, like Legal C Bar, that will offer outdoor seating.

Legal C Bar

Legal C Bar is a concept from Legal Sea Foods that shares the brand’s fanaticism for freshness and quality, while offering a contemporary and casual dining experience.

Legal C Bar restaurants are currently in suburban Massachusetts locations, Dedham, Hingham and Lynnfield.

The Garden City location is scheduled to open in the winter of 2018-2019.

“As we continue to re-merchandize the shopping center, our customers are asking for more dining options. Legal C Bar fills a needed category while offering an innovative twist on traditional seafood dining. We are confident it will quickly become a gathering place at lunch, after work and on the weekends for people looking for great food and conversation in a relaxed atmosphere,”  said Joe Koechel, General Manager of Garden City Center.
