Luxe Burger Bar Closes - Tied to Coronavirus

One of Providence’s best-known burger joints in closed.

Luxe Burger Bar — well known for its gourmet burgers and its annual contest to design the best burger -- is closing its doors for good.

It was one of the top restaurants in the Chow Fun Food Group — an ownership that operates Harry’s Burgers, Zaco Taco, and Ten Prime Steak and Sushi.

Luxe never reopened after Governor Gina Raimondo's ordered restaurants shuttered in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, before reopening the economy months later.

The closure of Luxe is another blow to the Providence restaurant industry that has seen the closure of Bravo, Nick's on Westminster and others.

In 2011, Providence was named the 3rd Best Burger city in America by Travel + Leisure.
