NEW: Bella Consulting Rumored to Get America's Cup Events Nod

Rumors are flying that Bella Consulting is poised to become the event production company for this summer's America's Cup World Series being held at Fort Adams State Park in Newport.

The Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation is expected to make a formal announcement at any time.

America's Cup World Series

The America's Cup World Series, which will be in Newport from June 23-July 1, is part of a regular circuit of regattas, bringing Cup racing to top venues around the world. The Series allows the teams and their sailors to prepare for the Louis Vuitton Cup, the America's Cup Challenger Series and the America's Cup Finals in the heat of battle.  With the switch to the AC45 class of cutting-edge multihulls, powered by towering wingsails, this time on the race course will benefit all of the sailors.

Attendance over the course of the event could reach 50,000 guests. The America's Cup Village will feature an Exploration zone, viewing areas, food, shopping and opportunities to view the boats. An updated schedule of what is occurring each day is expected to be out soon.

Bella would be assuming specific event production responsibilities working alongside RI EDC and the America's Cup Event Authority team.
