The space formerly occupied by Metro Cafe was designed by Rhode Island School of Design student Xiaohai Zhou, a Chinese freelance interior architect.
He writes of his design with Mingyi:
Rspace mixes retail stores and dessert stores altogether to provide an innovative and leisure space for office workers, residents and students in the city.
In order to make R Space stand out from the traditional surroundings, the designers abandon the inward continuation of the original European-style exterior wall by using simple and modern design way.
With metal, terrazzo, concrete, resin synthetic stone, and light pink as ornament, to create a new and pleasant indoor environment.
