NEW: Gas Prices Down 5 Cents

Gas prices are down five cents—the third such consecutive decline, according to AAA Southern New England.

The average price of self-serve regular unleaded gas today was $3.92 a gallon. That is 14 cents above the national average and well below the state average a year ago, which was $2.79.

Currently prices in Rhode Island have a 38-cent range, from $3.72 to $4.10.
