NEW: NE Tech Named Top Video Game Design School--Princeton Review

New England Institute of Technology in East Greenwich, RI, has one of the top Undergraduate Schools for Video Game design, according to Princeton Review.

Rhode Island's tech school ranked #14 on the 4th annual ranking, and shares top 15 honors with MIT (#5), Worcester Polytechnic Institute (#12), and Becker College in Worcester, MA (#13). Champlain College in Burlington, VT, received Honorable Mention, as did Northeastern University in Boston, and Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT.

"We hope our project will guide students considering careers in game design to schools best for them on our lists and on to companies at which they can apply their creative ideas and skills for the next generation of game players."

The top school in the country for Video Game Design this year is University of Utah, according to Princeton Review, filled by University of Southern California (USC) at #2 and DigiPen Institute of Technology (DIT) in Redmond, WA at #3. Rochester Institute of Technoogy (RIT) took the #4 ranking, followed by MIT.

How they got the rankings

The Princeton Review's 50-question survey for this project asked schools to report on a range of topics from academic offerings and faculty credentials to graduates’ employment and professional achievements. Among criteria The Princeton Review weighed to make its selections: the school curriculum, faculty, facilities, and infrastructure, plus career services, student scholarships, and financial aid.
