NEW: Rhode Island Ranks No. 7 on List of Scariest States for Jobseekers

Rhode Island ranks No. 7 on a list of scariest states jobseekers put out by the Web site CareerBliss.com.

The data factors in unemployment numbers in conjunction with the way employees feel about job opportunities in their state. Employees rate whether they feel there is future job growth on a scale of one to ten, with ten meaning job growth was definite.

The Ocean State's 10.5 percent unemployment rate and a growth factor of 5.999. Nevada tops the list of scariest states for jobseekers, with California, Washington D.C., Michigan and South Carolina rounding out the top five.

Heidi Golledge, CEO and Co-founder of CareerBliss said, “the unemployment numbers are of great concern. However, CareerBliss data shows that for many of the states in our top ten-list - employees feel positive about job growth. California ranks second overall for unemployment, but when asked if employees feel there is substantial job growth ahead, their employees’ average response was yes. Which is a good sign for the job market in 2012."
