NEW: State Senate to Hold Economic Summit Next Week

The Rhode Island State Senate is planning another economic summit for early next week, according to a spokesman.

Billed as “Growing Rhode Island,” the summit will focus on job opportunities in the manufacturing, tourism, and hospitality industries, according to Greg Pare, spokesman for Senate President Teresa Paiva Weed.

The event is scheduled for Monday, May 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Providence Marriott, 1 Orms Street.
