Partners HealthCare's Computerized Medical Records System Crashed — Co. Trying to Purchase RI’s CNE

Boston-based Partners HealthCare — the giant healthcare conglomerate that is trying to purchase Rhode Island’s second-largest hospital group — Care New England — was hit with a significant technology collapse. 

Presently, state regulators in Rhode Island are considering the purchase of RI's second largest hospital group -- Care New England -- by Partners. Care New England operates Women & Infants, Kent and Butler Hospitals.

Partners’ electronic medical records system, which is integrated to all 12 Partners Health Care hospitals, crashed Monday morning according to Tweets by the company.

The collapse forced the cancellation of some non-urgent surgical procedures, according to some reports.
