Kulper has served as the head of architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and will replace outgoing director Bob Shiel in September 2022.
"I am honored to have been selected as the next director of The Bartlett School of Architecture and look forward to future collaborations with staff and students," Kulper said in a statement.
"We are currently witnessing a sea-change in architectural education as the architect's role is strategically expanded to include fluency and expertise in racial, social, and environmental justice and decoloniality," she added. "The Bartlett is a global leader in the pedagogy of the built environment, and I look forward to harnessing the creative innovations of its community as we embrace this transformation in the education of the architect."
Kulper previously taught at the University of Cambridge, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the Southern California Institute for Architecture (SCI_Arc), and the University of Michigan. She holds master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Cambridge University and a Ph.D. in the History and Philosophy of Architecture from Cambridge University.

Ed Brady of The Historic Park Theatre and Events Center has announced a new culinary director for the Cranston venue.
"We are pleased to announce that Chef Derin Rheaume has joined our team at The Historic Park Theatre & Event Center. Derin will fill the role of Director of Culinary Operations at The Park. Chef Derin has earned 3 degrees from Johnson and Wales University, including an MBA. She has previously enjoyed a career working in 5-star hotels in Dublin, Ireland, and The Turks and Caicos Islands. This experience sparked her interest in learning about different cultures and their cuisines while adding her own modern twist. Although Derin has always had a passion for being creative with food, she also enjoys traveling and spending time with her family in her free time," said Brady.
