Residential Properties Ltd. announces that Sales Associate Angela Christina has joined the roster of real estate professionals at our South County office. With over two decades of experience in education, Angela brings a deep understanding of community dynamics and a strong commitment to supporting others. A lifelong Rhode Islander from Narragansett and current South Kingstown resident, she has decades of local market knowledge and can speak to the unique attributes of every corner of the Ocean State.
Tell us about your professional experience.
I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and earned my Master of Arts, Education: Reading. I also earned a Master of Education: Administration from Providence College before beginning my career in a local school district as both a teacher and an administrator. Over 24 years, I helped others organize numerous activities to foster the school environment and build relationships with students, staff, and the community. Being focused on people while remaining detailed and organized has always been my strong suit; I look forward to applying these same talents to my real estate career.
What does Rhode Island / New England offer today’s buyer?
Buyers want a well-rounded lifestyle. Rhode Island offers exploration, culture, cuisine, plus our natural amenities from our gorgeous coastline to our nature preserves and farmlands. Having grown up in Narragansett, the beaches will always say “home” to me. Walking the beautiful sea wall along the pier, jogging on the South County Bike Path, taking in the beautiful scenery…all of these make life better. My daughter has been attending college in Providence, so my husband and I have been trying out many of the diverse eateries on Thayer Street and Federal Hill. It’s another reminder that our area offers all sorts of contrasts in navigable, easy proximity. The fact that we can also hop in our car and make it to New Hampshire or Vermont ski resorts in about three and a half hours is the icing on the cake!
What made you choose to join Residential Properties?
Toby Kimball has been a sales associate with Residential Properties for many years and has been a friend and colleague of mine working in the same school district for over 20 years. His sister, Kim Kimball, is also one of my Mom’s closest friends. When I started taking my real estate course this past June, the instructor stressed the importance of joining a company that offers support and training to new agents. After a long conversation with Toby and then a meeting with Toby and Michele Brais learning about RPL’s strong mentorship program, I knew this company would help and support me in starting my real estate career.
What is your non-work life like these days?
My husband Matthew Taraborelli and I live in South Kingstown. My daughter is a senior at Brown and my son and his girlfriend bought their own house earlier this year. My family is the center of my world, and it’s an exciting time. Real estate has always been a part of my family life. My late father, Angelo “Junior” Christina, was a real estate agent for many years. My dad and I used to go on drives around town checking out properties and exploring what was for sale. I remember the joy my dad felt when he helped his clients find their dream home or sell their property. He taught me lessons that were important in life and work, such as building and maintaining strong relationships based on honesty and integrity, and keeping up with what’s going on in the local market.
What are you looking forward to, now that you’re a Realtor with RPL?
My goal is to build my own real estate career on the principles of honesty and integrity that my father taught me. I want to ensure a seamless and rewarding experience for all of my clients. As I mentioned, I joined RPL in part because the company values support and education, so my priority is to dive deeply into all of the company’s offerings from marketing to training. I want to continue to engage with my local community, meet new people, master new skills, and dedicate myself to lifelong learning.
