What is the EEO-1 Report?

Who must file the report?
With limited exception, the following companies must file the report annually:
- A private employer that has 100 or more employees (with limited exceptions for schools and other organizations)
- A private employer with between 15 and 99 employees, if it is part of a group of employers that legally constitutes a single enterprise, which employs a total of 100 or more employees
- A federal contractor that has 50 or more employees, is either a prime contractor or first-tier subcontractor, and has a contract, subcontract, or purchase order amounting to $50,000 or more
When is the filing due?
On April 12, 2022, the EEO-1 reporting portal is tentatively scheduled to open for data submissions. The deadline to file 2021 EEO-1 Component 1 data collection is May 17, 2022.
What should employers do now?
Eligible filers should begin to prepare their data in preparation of the May 17 deadline. And remember to review additional resources on the EEOC’s home page if you need more information.
