Residential Properties Sells Historic Cooke Street Home for $1.48 Million

The 1896 William H. & Adele S. Wood House at 56 Cooke Street on Providence's East Side has sold for $1.48 million.

“It is always such an amazing honor to introduce clients to a significant historic home. 56 Cooke is a gorgeous Colonial Revival, with soaring ceilings and a spacious and open floor plan, effortlessly lending itself to today’s modern living," said Kira Greene, of the Greene/Sweeney Team at Residential Properties.

The home is described in "Providence - a Citywide Survey of Historic Resources" as the following. "The 3-bay facade has a center entrance with an iconic porch. William Wood, a real estate agent with an office at Westminster Street, built the house and moved here from 136 Broadway."

"Cooke Street also happens to be one of the most beautiful streets in Providence in addition to being a very walkable location,” said Greene.

The house last sold in 2015 for $1,325,000.
