RI Media Christmas Wish List: The Top 20

1. Channel's 10,12 & 6 all agree to stop running 30-second stories about car crashes involving one car where no one gets hurt and other than the person in the car -- no one really cares about.
2. Watching Art Lake do the weather one more time.

4. The new owners of Channel 6 to do what they said they would do and actually invest some money into the place.
5. Having a politician that could conduct a Buddy Cianci style press conference where reporter’s had to be on their game before asking a stupid question.
6. Watching an investigation from the late Jack White – where you knew every fact and figure he told you was more solid than gold. Jack wasn’t “flashy” but boy did he get it done. A true class act.

8. A talk station that had Sherm Strickhouser Jack Comley, and Steve White for its line-up. Now that would be entertaining.
9. A one more time 6pm news with Doug White and Walter Cryan in the anchor chairs.
10. Hearing Salty Brine tell us no school again.
11. A real all news radio station like WBZ-Boston or WSB in Atlanta that actually has an entire team of street reporters. We used to have that here believe it or not.
12. A new rule that eliminates the “and I approved this message” from all the political ads in 2012. Actually your consultants approved it and let you know via email.

14. No more TV news video of snow shovels being sold before a snow storm. If you don’t own a snow shovel by now, move to Florida.
15. A resurgence of community radio stations with local staffs. RI used to have several (WKFD Wickford, WKRI West Warwick, etc.)
16. Hearing Big Ange, King Arthur Knight, Jimmy Gray, Big John Bina, David Simpson, on the radio again around here.
17. Listening as Mary-Ann Sorrentino makes an argument both informative and entertaining at the same time.
18. Hear Chris Clark, the Dean of PC basketball play-by-play, call one more game.
19. Have Gene Valicenti and Scott MacKay in a cage match at the Dunk, or at least do an hour on Gene's radio show.
