Smart Benefits: Reminder - EEO-1 Reports Due May 31

Rob Calise
Due to a delay in the opening of the EEO-1 survey, the deadline to submit EEO-1 data was extended until May 31, 2019.

By that date, all private employers with 100 or more employees and federal government contractors or first-tier subcontractors with 50 or more employees and a federal contract, subcontract or purchase order amounting to $50,000 or more must file the EEO-1 report with the EEOC office of Enterprise Data and Analytics' Employer Data Team.

In the report, employers should provide data from only one payroll period in either October, November or December 2018 and include both part-time and full-time employees.

To file, all single-establishment employers must complete a single EEO-1 online data record. All multi-establishment employers, i.e. employers doing business at more than one establishment, must complete online:

  • a report covering the principal or headquarters office
  • a separate report for each establishment employing 50 or more persons
  • a consolidated report that MUST include ALL employees by race, sex and job category in establishments with 50 or more employees as well as establishments with fewer than 50 employees
  • a list, showing the name, address, total employment and major activity for each establishment employing fewer than 50 persons, must accompany the consolidated report

Those who need to request a one-time 30-day extension can email [email protected] then proceed with online filing.

For details and instructions on filing, visit the EEO-1 website.
