Smart Benefits: Want to Attract Recent Grads? Consider These Benefits

In a recent American Institute of CPAs survey, young adult job seekers, meaning those looking for employment who graduated from college in the last two years or will within the next year, want something a little different than older generations when it comes to benefits.

When asked what they believe will most help them reach their financial goals, they ranked health insurance tops, just like those Baby Boomers surveyed. But while Boomers cited 401(k) match and pensions as their next top priorities, recent or soon-to-be-college grads revealed they place more importance on benefits that will give them the work-life balance they seek, like paid time off and remote working opportunities.

And with student loan debt topping 1.5 trillion in the US, according to the Federal Reserve, and 65% of the survey’s young respondents carrying student debt, it’s not surprising that loan forgiveness ranked among the top benefits as well.
