The Promenade Luxury Residences Expand Into Sharpe Building

The Foundry, located on 235 Promenade street in Providence, celebrated the 13th and final phase of its development project on its campus, the renovation of the Sharpe building. The building will be turned into 196 luxury residences which will be added to the 237-unit Promenade residences.

The celebration included development partners, colleagues, neighborhood residents and state officials. Among the guests were Henry and Peggy Sharpe, the family who originally developed the mill buildings bought by Antonio Guerra in 1968.

“It is wonderful to have Henry and Peggy Sharpe here as we remember Tony Guerra who 46 years ago envisioned the rehabilitation of 25 Holden Street and all the other Browne & Sharpe buildings that we celebrate today,” said Ted Sanderson, the Executive Director of the Rhode Island Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission.
