Trump Raises Tariffs on Dozens of Countries Via Executive Order

President Donald Trump on Thursday unveiled new tariffs targeting exports from dozens of U.S. trading partners, as he followed through with his plan to remake global trade.

Trump signed an executive order that will again raise prices for American consumers.

The steep tariffs on dozens of countries are now set to snap into place at 12:01 a.m. on August  7.

Tariffs will range as high as 50 percent on some countries, which Trump has designated to have an unbalanced trade or have not offered favorable concessions.

Global Increase in Tariffs: The order imposes new reciprocal tariffs on imports from about 68 countries and the 27-member European Union, to take effect August 7, 2025. Most nations face tariff rates between 15% and 41%, depending on the trade imbalance and other economic factors. Nations not listed in the order will have a baseline 10% tariff.
