Washington Trust Will Open New Branch in Cranston

Washington Trust, the oldest community bank in the nation, announced today that it would be opening up a third branch in Cranston, RI. The bank revealed that it would open in mid-summer 2012 after renovations are completed. The branch will be located at 2174 Plainfield Pike near Comstock Parkway and Interstate 295.

“Washington Trust has had tremendous success with our Cranston branches on Reservoir and Oaklawn Avenues,” stated Joseph J. MarcAurele, Washington Trust Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. “We’re excited to bring our community banking services to residents and businesses in the western Cranston area.”

Once completed, the Cranston branch will measure 3,600 square feet and will feature amenities such as four teller stations, two customer service areas, management offices, and a safe deposit box vault.
