Two Little Fish in Westerly has announced that this will be its last summer.

The seafood restaurant, located at Atlantic Avenue in Misquamicut and known for its fish and chips, made the announcement this weekend:

"2024 will be the final season of Two Little Fish at Misquamicut Beach. Our building is on the market, and several prospective buyers have told us we are not in their plans. So, uncertainty regarding our long-term future has led us to say farewell.

We want to share this with you so you can visit one last time, and we know some of you may have gift certificates you wish to use. Please use your gift certificate by this Labor Day, which will be our final day.

Hours going forward are: Sundays: 11:30-2:00. Monday-Saturday: 11:30-5:00. Please be aware that hours are weather dependent, and subject to change without notice, as we will be losing most of staff as they return to college in the next two weeks."

Earlier this summer, the business had explained how it had come up with its unique name.

"Many of you have commented 'How did you come up 'Two Little Fish'  as a name for your restaurant? We love it!

Well, a long time ago, we had to come up with a name. We admit all the ones we thought of were...pretty bad. Then Jennifer (sister of Kevin, spouse of Tim) said of our somewhat dubious chance of success 'You are like two little fish swimming in a big pond!'

Since that was a little long to answer the phone to, we shortened it to 'Two Little Fish' and there you have it!"
