LaSalle Bakery, found at 933 Smith Street and 685 Admiral Street in Providence, is known for its birthday cakes, bread, cookies, and its zeppoles. The bakery offers the tasty St. Joseph’s Day treat traditionally, either fried or baked.
Original Italian Bakery
The Original Italian Bakery at 915 Atwood Ave in Johnston bakes all of their products fresh every day with traditional Italian recipes that have been passed down through generations. Their Zeppoles are a true taste of Sicily.
Buono’s Bakery
Family owned and operated Buono’s Bakery is famous throughout New England for their Italian bread. They claim traditional methods, “modern day accuracy,” and the best ingredients are what make their selections the best. Be sure to try their zeppoles for St. Joseph’s day. In 1916, Luigi Scialo immigrated from Pomigliano d’Arco, Italy and started the famous Scialo Brothers Bakery at 257 Atwells Ave on Federal Hill with his brother. Since 1933, Luigi’s daughters have run the bakery. Talk about authentic Italian! Be sure to get one – or a few – of their zeppoles before they run out!
DeLuise Bakery
The “Big Boss” Sal has been working hard on those fried zeppoles at DeLuise Bakery, 1251 Chalkstone Ave, Providence. They also offer mini zeppoles at $18 for a dozen. Regular zeppoles are just $2.95 each, and come in a variety of flavors: traditional (cooked yellow cream), chocolate cream, and whipped cream.
Zaccagnini’s Pastry Shoppe

Palmieri’s Bakery
Palmieri’s Bakery, one of Rhode Island's oldest Italian bakeries, was originally founded in 1898 by Domenico Palmieri. It moved locations in 1945 to its current spot at 147 Ridge Street in Providence. Zeppoles were added to the bakery menu more recently, when it changed ownership to Theresa and Steven Meresi.
