Martinis on a Budget
Gracie's (194 Washington St, Providence, 272-7811) sets the bar high with a $5 cocktail of your choosing, including their top-shelf martinis, every night. All you need to do is enjoy it at the bar, which is no hardship.
Aspire (Hotel Providence, 311 Westminster St, Providence, 521-3333) also puts its excellent martinis on for $5 from 4-6pm Monday through Friday, as part of a great Work Day Wind Down daily deal. Scroll down for more specials.
It may be worth a drive to the country for Blackwater Tavern's (273 Nooseneck Hill Rd, Exeter, 385-9191) $5 Margarita Monday, and come back again on Tuesday for the $12.95 special: dinner plus a glass of wine, pint of local beer, or soft drink.

Providence Oyster Bar (283 Atwells, Providence, 272-8866) has $1 oysters, littlenecks and cherrystones, plus shrimp cocktail, for a dollar every night from 4-6:30pm. There's also an "Appy Hour" menu with other discounts. Same magic applies at next door sister restaurant Providence Prime.
Across from Trinity Rep, Bravo Brasserie (123 Empire St, Providence, 490-5112) offers jumbo shrimp and oysters for $1, in the lounge. Also: check out their Monday night dinner special: salads, entrees, and a bottle of wine to split for $29.95.
McCormick & Schmick's (11 Dorrance St, Providence, 351-4500) offers Dollar Oyster Tuesdays, with select oysters for $1, in addition to the best Happy Hour menu ever created (see below). Meanwhile, Aspire also puts $1 oysters/stuffies out from 4-6:30pm as part of Work Day Wind Down (see more, below). And Mills Tavern (101 North Main St, Providence, 272-3331) has $1 oysters plus other weekly specials Monday through Friday from 4-8pm.
In Pawtucket, Hose Company No. 6 (636 Central Ave, 722-7220) has a great seafood deal on Wednesdays: four pounds of steamers for $9.95. And every day, don't miss two specialty drinks, the Hose Co. Koolaid and Summer Breeze, are $5 for 16 oz.
Head to Ocean Mist (895 Matunuck Rd, South Kingstown, 782-3740) on Friday nights: when you order fish & chips on Fridays, you get a free bowl of chowder. (If Mexican's more your thing, Ocean Mist offers two-for-one Mexican entrees on Thursdays from 4-11pm.)

There may be cheap wings out there, but the ones at Cuban Revolution (60 Valley St, 632-0649; 50 Aborn St, 331-8829, both in Providence) are top-quality and they're only 20 cents apiece (no minimum order, celery is a buck extra) seven days a week from 5-10pm. Don't miss budget-friendly beers: $3 drafts and imports/craft beers, $2 domestics.
For a late-night wing grab, check out the nightly wing special at Murphy's Deli and Bar (100 Fountain St, Providence, 621-8467), where you can get wings for 25 cents each from 11pm-midnight.
On Mondays, you've got two 25-cent wing specials to choose from: on the Bristol waterfront, Gillary's Tavern (198 Thames St, 253-2012) has wings for a quarter on Mondays, from 7pm-1am. And back in Providence, Cafe Four Twelve (412 Douglas Pike, 270-2233) also has wings for a quarter; come back for $1 nachos on Tuesdays, and $2 quesadillas on Sundays.
It's Not Happy Hour. It's Early Dinner.
If you haven't hit the Happy Hour at McCormick and Schmick's (11 Dorrance St, Providence, 351-4500) you've been missing the best food deal in the state. Every day from 3:30-6pm, and 10pm-midnight, the restaurant's bar that anchors the Biltmore Hotel puts up a fantastic menu of specials with a $3.50 minimum beverage purchase. $1.95 specials include spinach and artichoke dip and hummus plate, but the star

Aspire (at the Hotel Providence, 311 Westminster St, Providence, 521-3333) continues to innovate and lure with great specials, and the Workday Wind Down is the latest. From 4-6pm Monday-Friday, you can grab $1 oysters and stuffies, and $5 plates including crab cakes pizza, plus Black Angus burgers. On the drink side, there's those $5 martinis, $5 Linderman's wine and $3 Narragansett drafts.
Something's always on special at RiRa Irish Pub (50 Exchange Terrace, Providence, 272-1953). On Mondays hit Yank Night for 1/2 price wings 7-11pm; Tuesdays as part of Pub Quiz there's a $16 apps sampler; Wednesdays burgers are half-price all day; Thursdays fish & chips are $8.95 after 8pm. Drink specials roll all week long.
India (1060 Hope St, Providence, 421-2600) gives away appetizers for a dollar Monday through Thursdays from 3-8pm with the purchase of a $5 drink... not to mention this sweet deal: 50% off all entrees on Tuesday nights, if you dine in.
Nothing Wrong WIth Ladies Night
Sidebar Bistro (127 Dorrance St, Providence, 421-7200) keeps the classic alive with a Monday special: ladies eat free and get a glass of sangria to boot. Guys, don't feel bad: there's a lunch special every day - buy one, get one free, 11am-3pm.

On Thursdays, Chiazza Tratoria (308 Country Rd, Barrington, 247-0303) offers Ladies Night with drink specials and half-price appetizers. For everyone, check out half-priced apps Monday to Thursday from 4-6pm. Closer to Coventry? You can get the same deal at Flare Brick Oven Bistro (57 Tiogue Ave, Coventry, 615-8577) on Thursdays, plus a regular special from 4-6 for everybody: half-priced appetizers in the lounge Tuesday - Friday.
Carb Loading, Italian Style
Tuesday night belongs to Luigi's Restaurant (1357 Hartford Ave, Johnston, 861-3850), for its create-your-own pasta dinner for $10.99. Choose from eight different sauces, eleven different side dishes and six cuts of pasta. Perfect for carb loading or family fun on a Tuesday. (Yup... they are an advertiser.)
