Don't Miss: 2014 Boston Wine Expo

Calling all wine enthusiasts: don't miss out on one of the biggest wine expos in the country this weekend.
If you haven’t dug yourself out of the snow yet, here’s a good reason to get out the shovel. What is widely considered to be the America's largest consumer wine expo, as well as best wine-tasting deal around is taking place this weekend. I am of course talking about the 2014 Boston Wine Expo, which takes place at the Seaport World Trade Center and Seaport Hotel February 15-16.

Grand Tasting

Tickets to the Grand Tasting grants you access to the main event. There you will receive a Boston Wine Expo souvenir glass that will allow you to sample as many as 1800 wines from over 185 producers from around the world. Also enjoy complimentary food samples from scores of providers or watch a live cooking demonstration on the dueling Celebrity Chef Stages. These demonstrations will showcase the talents of New England’s most renowned chefs including Ming Tsai (Blue Ginger, Blue Dragon), Barbara Lynch (No. 9 Park, Sportello, Menton), Richard Rayment (Seaport Hotel & World Trade Center), Jody Adams (Trade, Rialto), Michael Schlow (Alta Strada, Via Matta, Tico), and many more.

Vintner’s Reserve Lounge

There are also tickets available for the Vintner’s Reserve Lounge where the more serious wine enthusiasts can sample rare and expensive bottles of wine. Located in a private room away from the Grand Tasting, the Vintner's Reserve Lounge is the perfect way to spend an afternoon sampling fine wine and tasting delectable treats from the top restaurants in the city. Enjoy the wines—most of which poured in the Vintner's Reserve Lounge retail for $75 and up—while enjoying live entertainment. Ticket includes admission to the Grand Tasting on the same day.

Seminars

Tickets for this weekend’s seminars are selling fast, so if you want to meet Kevin Zraly “The One Hour Wine Expert”, sample the 2012 vintage in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, explore the Cool Whites of Oregon's Willamette Valley, or take a seminar in which participants compare Pinot Noir from Burgundy’s Top Appellations, act fast! Should you get wined out, consider mixing things up with a seminar about the craft distilling movement, Scotch, Rum, or witness (and sample) a mixology competition. There is so much to do that you may want to consider getting the weekend pass.
