Don't Miss: Beaujolais Nouveau 2013 at Pot Au Feu in Providence

This week, Providence's Pot Au Feu restaurant will be hosting its Beaujolais Nouveau 2013 wine uncorking with a three part celebration. Beaujolais Nouveau, a red wine produced in the Beaujolais region of France, is not to be sold or consumed prior to the third Thursday in November, according to French custom.

At precisely 12:00:01 AM on Thursday November 20, the first cork of this year's wine will be popped as part of celebration "Un," which features the first taste in North America. The event itself begins at 10 PM (on Wednesday), and is $20 per person.

Part "deux" takes place Thursday morning, and features a wheelbarrow race between teams comprised of staff members from Pot Au Feu and the Biltmore Hotel. The race begins at the "crack of ten" (10 AM), and is held at the Gaspee Memorial Kiosk on South Water St. This is a free event open to the public.

The festivities conclude on Thursday evening with celebration "trois." This event, the "Tapping of the Barrel" dinner, features a hearty three course French country feast paired with Beaujolais straight from the barrel, and other great wines. This event begins at 6:30 PMand is $45 (plus tax and gratuity).
