DownCity Named One of 10 Hot Food Neighborhoods in US

Providence's DownCity has been featured on Zagat's recent list of the 10 Hot Food Neighborhoods Around the US. 

Zagat judged each neighborhood based on the following: 

Why It's Hot: DownCity's variety of 28 shops and its title as the "Renaissance City" is a big draw for the "once seedy" area.

Newcomers: The Dean is credited for bringing "high design" and the first karaoke lounge to the city. Other businesses of note included: New Harvest Coffee, Bolt Coffee Company, Ellie's Bakery, Ken's Ramen and G Pub.

Neighborhood Classics: Birch, on Washington St. has been named one of the best restaurants in the country. 

Beyond Food: G Pub and Aurora, both helmed by Arnold Chace Jr. of Cornish Associates, are noted for their development and Aurora's "cabaret lounge and performance arts space".
