A fundraiser for Federal Hill restaurant owner and chef Armando Bisceglia — who is battling “severe COVID” according to friends — has brought in close to $20,000 as of Sunday.

Bisceglia who opened Bacco Vino & Contorni on Federal Hill after working at Zooma, is currently in the hospital.

Daniel Beam started the fundraising effort, with a $50,000 goal for Bisceglia.

“One thing you can always count on, and that's Armando being there for the whole neighborhood for a laugh and to inspire your endeavors, while he is feeding you the best comfort food available. He is one of my best friends, and now he needs our help,” wrote Beam.

“Armando was diagnosed with severe covid recently, and it hit him really hard. He is currently in the ICU at Rhode Island Hospital with low O2 and blood clotting in his arms and legs. While Danielle and Adam are keeping the restaurant going, the medical bills from being in the ICU are going to be crushing,” he continued.

"So, I am starting this GoFundMe as a way to help Armando and Gaby weather this tragedy, and hopefully jump back on both feet after he gets better!! Anything you can donate is appreciated!” wrote Beam. “Thank you so much for all your help! All proceeds are going directly to Gaby and Armando.”
