Five Things: The Best Restaurants of 2010
It's that time of year, and Sean DeBobes reviewed his journeys up and down the state. Here are the five restaurants that topped his list for 2010.

Get Away.
At the Stone House in Little Compton Chef Kim Lambrechts is creating wonderful flavors in two resort restaurants. Pietra surprised me with a wonderful oyster flight complete with Tobasco sorbet while the Taproom @ 1854 could have cooled it down with the elegant hurricane cocktail.

Innovative.
Top marks to Nemo Bolin’s new Cook & Brown this year. This restaurant that exploded onto the national scene this year is innovating in the kitchen every night. From a bacon & herb granola to a garlic bread pudding, you can guarantee that you will try something new while at Cook & Brown. Check back often as this fervent chef changes the menu daily on Hope Street.

Critic’s Choice.
Whenever someone has asked me recently what my favorite meal has been this year I can instantly tell them that Chef Dan Hall of Perro Salado in Newport gets the prize. I have been dreaming of the savory charred corn on the cob mixed with the smoky chipotle mayo and grilled vegetables. When I am done reminiscing about that I can just go right to the sinfully good coconut broth Mahi Mahi.

All Things Considered.
Need an amazing dinner in Providence that won’t bust the bank? Head on over to Loie Fuller’s. From the beautifully constructed bar and wall to wall murals to the three amazing appetizers that I enjoyed Loie Fuller’s showed me a diverse menu and clientele that has stuck with me.

Man on the Move.
From first bite at Tallulah on Thames in Newport I knew that I would be seeing Chef Jake Rojas again and again. His eclectic culinary style is spot-on, blending Classical French, Italian, and regional favorites seamlessly to create a menu that will have all of Newport clamoring for a seat in his swanky new restaurant. Fusing styles while using ingredients that have been sourced from local farms and artisan food makers says Rojas’ chops are worth checking out. If you don’t have time to get to the restaurant, no worries, Chef Rojas has been seen cooking at all the best events throughout Newport since his doors opened.
