About Antonio's
On its website, Antonio's -- which has five locations in Rhode Island, including two in Providence -- writes the following:
Antonio’s Pizza first opened up in 1991 in Amherst, MA to serve the vast amount of college students in what is known as the five college area. We quickly realized however, that it was not just college students that where falling in love with our pie, but the entire community (young and old). We quickly developed a tremendous reputation for excellent and unique pizza, efficient service and our equally unique and friendly staff. As evidenced by being voted “Best Pizza” for 21 consecutive years by the readers of the Springfield newspaper the Advocate.
After establishing ourselves as a staple in the Amherst community, the company began to explore the possibilities of expanding the Antonio’s brand of creativity, quality of product, and energy. In 2002, we opened our second restaurant in Providence, Rhode Island. Followed by additional locations in Texas, Illinois, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. With our constantly improving menu and tradition of friendly and efficient service, we were able to repeat the same success we had in Amherst.
