Robert's Deli on Chalkstone Avenue in Providence for Sale
Owner Joseph Mullen announced the news about the business that had first opened in 1972.
"As some of you may have noticed, the deli has been closed for the last few days. We decided recently that it was in the best interest of our family to put the deli up for sale," said Mullen. "When the opportunity first came about in 2019 to purchase a family owned, 47 year old business, we jumped on it with enthusiasm and without a ton of thought. We were happy to take on a neighborhood legacy and continued to serve the community we grew up in with a fresh, quality product for the last 2 years (and during a pandemic!). We didn’t raise the prices, we served with a smile and we were happy to continue making people’s day."

Mullen, speaking with GoLocal on Friday, said that while the deli is temporarily closed, he intends for it to reopen in the near future while it is on the market.
"We just have a lot going on with the baby coming, but it's not permanently closed -- we'll reopen soon, and we'll see if we get interest from a buyer," said Mullen. "We'll see what happens. We have a loyal following. "
