Open Table Names 2 RI Restaurants to Top 100

Ten million reviews have spoken, and put two Rhode Island restaurants into the Top 100 restaurants for 2011 nationwide.

OpenTable, the leading provider of free, real-time online restaurant reservations for diners, and users of the site have just recognized a Providence and a Newport restaurant in its Diners' Choice Awards for the top 100 best restaurants in the United States. The list of winners is derived from more than 10 million reviews submitted by OpenTable diners for more than 12,000 restaurants in all 50 states. 

And the winners are...

Gracie’s in Providence and Restaurant Bouchard in Newport took honors this year. California lead the pack with ten winning restaurants, while New York eateries claimed seven spots. South Carolina, Texas and

Virginia each took six places. Colorado and Ohio restaurants earned four wins apiece, and Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts and Minnesota all won three nods. States also represented on the list of winners include Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, and Tennessee, in addition to Rhode Island.  

The "superb dining experience"

"The restaurants on this list are wonderfully varied, but they have one overwhelming quality in common - each establishment is taking every opportunity to deliver a superb dining experience," says Caroline Potter, OpenTable's Chief Dining Officer. "Quality and consistency in the food, service and setting are the hallmarks of the very best restaurants, and all three elements can be found in abundance by diners visiting any of these honorees."   

Gracie’s, owned by Ellen Gracyalny, and Bouchard, owned by husband and wife team Albert and Sarah Bouchard, are both fine-dining establishments known for excellent food and service.
