Folks have been waiting for a year, but the wait is over.

GoLocal got a sneak peek at the so-called “soft” opening on Wednesday night of the XO Bar.

The bar is being launched by restauranteur Ben Lloyd and hospitality veteran Scott Champagne.

Champagne posted to social media about Thursday's official opening:

The wait is over. The XO Bar will be officially opening its doors on Thursday, 6/8, at 4 pm.

It's been a labor of love, sweat, and cocktails, but we're here and ready to rock your world.

GoLocalFirst Reported the Reopening of the XO Space in 2022:

A new bar is “slated” to open where a once-popular Providence restaurant used to be.

According to Ben Lloyd, owner and head chef of The Salted Slate in Wayland Square, his newest endeavor -- “XO Bar” -- is expected to open on North Main Street later this spring. 

As its name suggests, it’s where XO used to be, in the historic John Updike House built in 1799. 

XO, which was the brainchild of veteran restaurateur John Elkhay, closed in 2018; the building has since gone through extensive renovations.
