RI Farmers Markets to Launch Great RI Veggie Vote
The Great Rhode Island Veggie Vote is a week long celebration where farmers market lovers can cast a ballot to elect their favorite summer vegetable.

GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTVegetable themed events will take place at participating markets across the state beginning on July 10 and ending July 16.
Veggie vote participants will elect one of this year’s five candidates: Summer Squash, Kale, Beets, Snap Peas, or Turnips — and enjoy photo booths, games, and educational activities throughout the week.
The Veggie Vote polls will also be open on the RIFMC Facebook page throughout the month of July, and the group will announce R.I.’s favorite vegetable during National Farmers Market Week, August 6 -12

Waterfire is back for the summer and it's an event and experience that must be had.
As GoLocalProv reported, WaterFire will begin the 2019 season with a basin lighting on Thursday, May 23 or the National Association of State Treasurers Treasury Management Training Symposium and the first full lighting of the season will be Saturday, June 22.
Waterfire is Providence's signature event bringing in people from all over New England and the country to see it.
