Stay Local & Eat Well: Providence-Warwick CVB Innovates Restaurant Week for Pandemic

“Stay Local, Eat Well” is running August 16 through September 12.
"We modified restaurant week for the pandemic era and to address the needs of visitors and restaurants,” said Adamo.

Partnering With Local Delivery
“We’re partnering with What’s Good, and we’ll be launching that later this week,” said Adamo, of the local “farmers market online.”
“They typically offer things like produce from farms, baked goods — it’s really about local food,” said Adamo.
“They also have service where you can order from participating restaurant on say a Tuesday. There’s a list of dinner for two on their app — and you can schedule a time to have it delivered to your home later in the week,” added Adamo.
“We think this is a groundbreaking way for people still not comfortable going to restaurants to get their food, and for restaurants to have another source of revenue,” said Adamo. “ And it’s helpful for them when the orders come in ahead of time, they can make the meals at different times of day — they’re delivered cold-pack, so it gives both the restaurants and diners flexibility. “
Stay Local
In addition to dining, the CVB has teamed up with local hotels for value-based packages.
“We’re working with hotel partners to push staycations and value-added hotel stays,” said Adamo. “And then we couple them with deals for such things a gondola rides, tickets to the zoo.”
