NEW: Fruits Sold in RI Recalled by California Packing Company

Wawowna Packing Co., in consultation with the FDA, is recalling plums, nectarines, peaches, and other fruits that have been sold in Rhode Island, the RI Department of Health announced in a health alert.

No illnesses have been linked to the questioned products, but there is concern that they may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was based on internal company testing.

According to the Department of Health, The products most commonly sold under the name "Sweet to Eat" were sold "in Rhode Island at Sam's Club, BJ's, Trader Joe’s, Stop and Shop, Whole Foods, Save-A-Lot and very possibly other food establishments."
